Hagley Park is a must visit when staying in Christchurch! Located right in the centre of the city, it is absolutely beautiful every season of the year. With over 400 acres to explore, it’s a great place to just start walking and see where the path takes you.
Other highlights of Hagley Park include the Botanic Gardens, playgrounds, picnic spots, sports facilities, and a cafe. There are also free guided tours every day at 1:30pm between October and April. Tours meet at the Botanic Gardens Kiosk.
If you’re staying in Christchurch with the kids, you don’t get a much better family day out! Take a walk through the trees, gardens, and wide open spaces, breathe in the fresh air, and let the kids run wild! Don’t forget to pack a picnic lunch, otherwise you can stop by the Ilex Cafe.
